Role Summary/Purpose

This position is for the role of Engineer – Mounts in the Impact Dynamics & Mounts team at GE Aviation, Bangalore. Engineer should demonstrate excellent learning agility and grasp the fundamentals of Structures & Mounts design quickly. Plan deliverables with FTY=1 and OTD with minimal guidance.
Essential Responsibilities

· This position is for the role of Engineer – Mounts in the Impact Dynamics & Mounts sub-section of ATO at GE Aviation Bangalore. Engineer should demonstrate excellent learning agility and grasp the fundamentals of Structures & Mounts design quickly. Plan deliverables with FTY=1 and OTD with minimal guidance. Key responsibilities for this role are as follows:

• FE model development of Engine Mounts static hardware, complex joints, sub-modeling assessment, perform crack initiation and crack propagation analysis, non-linear elastic plastic assessment for ultimate load conditions
• Assessment for continuous airworthiness requirements of Engine Mounts
• Quick evaluation of concepts through hand calculations/ engineering judgment/ preliminary design evaluation
• Should be flexible to work on different programs based on priorities
• Generate ideas to improve and utilize Digital tools for Mounts team benefit
• Understand the importance of safety critical components and evaluate design for FAR 33 and FAR 25 requirements for Engine Mounts certification
• Identify and implement opportunities for faster, smarter and better of way of implementing Mounts procedures.
• Influence aircraft engine Mount architecture for reduced cost and weight and safety
• Recommend design and analysis approaches utilizing current best practices to meet program/ project needs
Qualifications/Requirements

· • MTech / MS in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering
• 3 years of relevant experience on Engine structures design/analyses in gas turbine domain
• In-depth understanding of mechanical engineering and structural fundamentals, strength of materials
• Demonstrated ability to execute engineering programs with FTY=1 and OTD.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Unfailing dedication to deadlines and commitments
• Demonstrate critical thinking in day to day problem solving
Desired Characteristics

• Good working knowledge in ANSYS FE modeling/ Linear & non-linear solution options, Unigraphics/ APDL/Excel, LCF, HCF & Strength assessments, buckling asessments
• Critical Thinking and exposure to design aspects of structural components
• Problem solving skills to solve engine structures/mounts related issues
• Exposure to FAA regulations and aerospace industry
• Exposure to Design for Six Sigma tools and techniques
