Role Summary/Purpose
The Engineer – Materials Science and Engineering provides materials and process definition, qualification, and lifecycle support of engine hardware and systems that satisfy engine program requirements consistent with manufacturing and inspection capabilities. In this role, you will work with design and supply chain partners to achieve business objectives and ensure safety as it relates to assigned hardware.
Essential Responsibilities
· Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies, or systems that meet business standards and program/product requirements
· Provide technical guidance to personnel supporting the assigned project
· Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
· Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
· Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
· Document technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
· Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Qualifications/Requirements
· B.S. in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Ceramic Engineering, or related degree from an accredited university or college
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):
· Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
Desired Characteristics
· Work or research experience in Metallic Materials, Ceramic Matrix Composite Materials, or Coatings
· Master of Science in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Ceramic Engineering, or related degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of two years in an engineering position
· Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
· Solid oral and written communication skills
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
· PC proficiency
· Ability to work in a team environment
