Role Summary/Purpose

The Stator Design is as global team part of Product Line Engineering providing the technical solution and its documentation for the specified products. This comprises all own fleets with all technologies as well as oOEM generators.
The Stator Design Engineer is responsible to design adequate technical solutions leveraging available technologies. The final design has to be optimized with respect to manufacturability, implementation effort and overall costs.
Essential Responsibilities

•Develop and maintain solutions for stator rewinds, replacement fields, uprates, and other upgrades for generators according to specification; perform work autonomously, in time and efficiently
•Reverse engineer for oOEM projects, taking dimensions on-site when required
•Design according standards and consider EHS aspects
•Improve products to reduce manufacturing costs and assembly time
•Create and maintain product documentation like quality test plans, specifications, manufacturing instructions, BOM, 3D-CAD-models and 2D-drawings
•Maintain the data in ERP-, PLM- and CAD-systems
•Work closely with the other engineering teams in the generator product line and repair engineering (RTCoE) and provide support where needed
•Communicate with workshop at hand-over and during production phase and provide NCR disposition
•Support Product Service teams answering complex questions (2nd level support)
•Participate to RCA (Root Cause Analysis) led by Product Service team
•Co-operate closely with System Integration Leaders (SIL)
•Participate to customer meeting if required
•Contribute with innovative concept ideas in New Product Introduction (NPI) definition and execution phase
•Be open for and propose ideas for continuous improvement in the design and engineering process
•Promote team work and knowledge sharing in the team
•Support and contribute to other functional teams within Product Line Engineering
Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university Engineering or other technical or businessrelated field, ideally with background in electrical machines
•At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering in the domain of new product design, service and/or manufacturing
•Practical experience in use of engineering tools (CAD, PLM)
•Strong oral and written communication skills in English
•Integrity: accepting and adhering to high ethical, moral, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others
Desired Characteristics

5 years of domain expertise experience in turbogenerators, particularly on stators
•Fluent in another language
