Role Summary/Purpose
The Field Service specialist will be responsible for supporting the Dynamic Position (DP), Power Management (PMS) Systems and Drives, at the customer site.
After the initial training in Brazil, this position will be located in México.
Essential Responsibilities
• Focal point for providing assistance with troubleshooting, training, planning, and logistical issues to complete the contract work scope
• Responsible for performing intermediate level of equipment repairs in direct support of the customer
• Provide general technical direction and assistance to the customer in the operation, maintenance, repair and installation of GE products
• Provide on-site interpretation of data and technical instruction
• Provide technical assistance through on-site guidance and training in proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of assigned equipment’s
• Provide communication to Field Service Office, regarding all carried out activities and problems through regular, timely reports, including sales opportunities for Marine/Offshore Market
• Assist customer in scheduling maintenance and workload
• Review reported malfunctions and identify / analyze any undesirable trends
• Make recommendations on findings
• Review effectiveness of maintenance actions in order to identify training needs
• Able to travel about 70% of the time
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's or Technical Degree in Electrical, Electronic or Automation
Engineers with 2 years or Technical with 4 years of experience in a Field Service / Maintenance position
Knowledge in Automation systems, with:
1. Strong skills in Programming, Debugging and Monitoring Industrial Controllers -PLC, HMI, Scada, etc;
2. Skills in Logging and Trend Tools;
3. Skills in AC Drive Parameters and basic troubleshooting;
4. Skills in Standard Microsoft Office;
The candidate should be resident in Mexico
Fluent Spanish, Advanced in English.
