Role Summary/Purpose

The role of Engineer offers aerodynamic preliminary and detailed design responsibility for the development of GE Aviation’s next generation commercial and military Fans, Boosters and Compressors and associated aerodynamic compressor technology. In this role, you will contribute to domestic US and global design teams in design, analysis and validation of components using tools such as CFD.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Execute aerodynamic design for advanced turbomachinery compression components and technology with regular technical oversight

·  Develop skills in preliminary & detailed aerodynamic design

·  Analysis of engine test data to validate component design versus technical requirements

·  Participate in formulating and implementing plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules and contract commitment

·  Support the definition and development of compression aerodynamic processes related to design, analysis, test, and/or productivity

·  Participate in technical reviews as a presenter

·  Provide timely communications on project status and significant developments as appropriate

·  Document technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
Desired Characteristics

·  Master’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university (Or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university with minimum of 2 years of experience in an engineering position)

·  Advanced Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering relevant to turbomachinery aerodynamics from an accredited university or college

·  Experience with aerodynamic design of turbomachinery or close coordination with the fan or compressor aero design function

·  Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance

·  Strong technical aptitude, including familiarity in tools related to aerodynamic design, testing, and system development

·  Knowledge of state of the art fan & compressor aerodynamics

·  Proficient with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and/or aerodynamic testing techniques

·  Strong oral and written communication skills

·  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

·  Python & PC proficiency skills
