Job Description Summary

Performs the detailed analysis of the technical specification to understand the requirements of the customer, makes calculations and feasibility studies to define the product corresponding to the best technical and economic solution, prepares the technical offer including costing and technical documents (drawings, data sheet, reports) to be submitted to the customer together with the commercial proposal.
Prepares offers of HV Products (HV Instrument Transformers and Wave traps) for domestic and export markets within the GE Renewables High Voltage Switchgear (HVS) unit located in Hosur India.

Job Description

Essential responsibilities:

Organizational

  • Understands and works in full compliance with the objectives and policies of the manufacturing unit, HVS PL (High Voltage Switchgear Product Line) and GE Renewables.
  • Assist the sales team located in India and other regions of the world to ensure the sales targets are met.
  • Plans and organizes his own work, establishes priorities and prepares offers working in close cooperation with Sales, Supply chain, Engineering and Sourcing when necessary.
  • Seeks the best product solution for the customer, ensuring the fulfillment of the technical specification at the right cost.
  • Works in cooperation with supply chain to prepare the schedules of manufacture for the offers that meet the deadlines requested by the client, identifying bottlenecks, proposing solutions, respecting the factory capacity and aiming to deliver on time.
  • Submits the offers within the established deadline.
  • Participates in project kick-off meetings upon receipt of purchase orders, clarifying and documenting the risks (scope, time and cost) and corresponding mitigation measures identified when preparing the offer.
  • Provides support to TPMs and the engineering team in managing project change requests received from customers to identify resulting cost variations compared to the project budget (as booked).
  • Organizes, indexes, controls and stores the offer documents.
  • Provides the data needed and generates the KPIs of the tendering process.
  • Provides the data needed to support the S&OP process.
  • Provides feedback on the competitiveness of products and presents suggestions to Sourcing and Engineering teams, aiming at improving product offerings.
  • Prepares reports and performs analyzes when requested by his management. Makes presentations and keeps management abreast of issues and on the progress of corresponding actions plans.
  • Provides support to products and factory homologation projects.
  • Participates and works as a team in internal initiatives and/or between HVS PL units to prepare offers to capture strategic projects.

Technical

  • Guarantees that all product offers fulfil GE policies, procedures and complies with customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Performs technical calculations of electromagnetic and mechanical dimensioning of HV Instrument Transformers and wave traps using tools and technical documentation of the product.
  • Studies, keeps himself up to date and makes regular use of the local and international technical standards applicable to the products offered.
  • Prepares technical documents such as data sheets, diagrams and schematic drawings as well as technical notes to clarify and complement the technical documentation provided to customers with the commercial proposal.
  • Provides support to customers working together with the sales team, when requested, to propose and guide the improvement of technical specifications.
  • Executes studies (technical and costing) to analyze the right cost of offers.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in tendering or engineering in T&D industry in the high voltage / medium voltage products field would be differentiator
  • Autocad 2D/3D
  • Simulation Software knowledge would be differentiator
  • Microsoft Office
