Role Summary/Purpose

In Aero & Thermal Technologies, we pioneer next-generation military propulsion systems by defining and delivering aero-thermal integrated solutions to defend freedom around the globe.
Essential Responsibilities

As an Engineer - Aero, you will be responsible, with mentorship and guidance, for the aerodynamic design of next generation exhaust systems to meet the performance and capability specifications of our Customers. You will be expected to learn and grow in your understanding of advanced exhaust system design, including laying out early conceptual design, detailing preliminary and final designs, and working design tradeoffs concurrently to address the strengths and weaknesses of the proposed aero configuration. You will be expected to engage directly with thermal, mechanical, performance, and other functional discipline engineering teams to meet the technical specifications of the exhaust system. You will also be expected to participate in Design Board and Tech Community meetings.

In summary, you will:

·  Execute, with guidance, the analysis/evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product/program requirements

·  Recommend approaches to meet the technical and program requirements

·  Execute technical plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules, and contractual commitments

·  Respond to technical challenges as they arise

·  Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned programs and tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

·  Monitor and communicate project status

·  Participate in organizational efforts and assigned projects

·  Participate as a presenter in technical and programmatic reviews with internal and external Customers

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

·  Ability to obtain and maintain a US Department of Defense security clearance ( Government security clearance must be in place or in process by anticipated start date )

Desired Characteristics

·  A minimum of 2 years of experience in an aerospace or mechanical engineering position (through Co-Ops or Internship Programs)

·  Strong oral and written communication skills

·  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

·  Ability to guide and influence others

·  Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work

·  Fundamental understanding of augmentors and nozzle designs in turbofan engines

·  Familiarity with aero design tools and processes
