Role Summary/Purpose

The Embedded Software Development Engineer is responsible for leading the software design and certification activities for the next generation military engines.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Execute on the business goals, programs, and processes associated with engine embedded software development

·  Collaborate with Control / Fuel / Electrical Systems, Engine Systems and Hardware designers / vendors for design & implementation of embedded software for future military aviation applications

·  Interact directly with military customers and airframers to analyze, clarify, and correct requirements and designs

·  Participate actively in design and code reviews

·  Document technical data generated for assigned projects / tasks, consistent with engineering policies and procedures

·  Provide timely communication to leadership and team members on significant issues or developments

·  Drive performance, quality and reliability improvements

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college

·  Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Engineering position

·  Ability and willingness to travel 10% of the time
Desired Characteristics

·  Experience with software requirements, model / code design integrated with other systems, robust testing and software tool development and integration for the embedded engine control and analytics software

·  Experience with military and/or commercial software development and certification process (DO-178B / C and related commercial software certification standards for safety critical embedded software)

·  Familiarity with the following tools: DOORS, SCADE, RTC, ALM, RQM or change management systems

·  Knowledge of software architecture tools, such as: AADL, Enterprise architect

·  Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles

·  Cyber-security experience

·  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

·  Ability to work independently
