Role Summary/Purpose

The Electrical Engineer, MR role will primarily be responsible for the development, product introduction, and installed base support of components owned by the Magnetic Resonance (MR) Hardware RF, Mixed Signal, and Digital team. In addition, this role interfaces with a global engineering team and utilizes advanced design tools and techniques to ensure a reliable, quality product.
Essential Responsibilities

Duties include (but are not limited to):
1. Write detailed functional specifications that document newly created designs and support product introduction.
2. Provide technical support to team throughout product development and implementation process
3. Test and verify hardware to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements, by recording and analyzing test data
4. Model, build, test, and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with simulation
5. Capture electrical design schematic using an ECAD system
6. Review and approve layout done on the ECAD system
7. Provide input requirements to software team to define system interfaces and control.
8. Select hardware and material, assuring compliance with specifications and product requirements
9. Engaging in all phases of new product introduction: concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support
10. Update knowledge and skills in order to stay current with technology trends in domain expertise
11. Identifying and developing new opportunities to leverage Strategic Sourcing objectives and Common Technology initiatives in the MR product line
Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements
1.Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
2.Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures
3.Circuit design and simulation tool experience
4.Schematic capture experience
5.Working knowledge of PWA board bring-up and system integration experience
6.Experience with typical electrical test equipment such as spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, oscilloscopes

Desired Characteristics

1.Masters degree in Electrical Engineering
2.Demonstrated experience in VHDL designs and simulation tools (Altera, ModelSim)
3.Demonstrated experience in RF/Mixed signal simulation tools (Agilent ADS, PSpice)
4.Design experience in applications of analog filters, RF amplifiers, mixer design, impedance
matching, ADC driver interfaces
5.Design experience with standard bus formats such as PCIe, CAN, Ethernet, USB, and I2C
6.Experience in Machine language programming; real-time low level data and bus handling
Demonstrated technical leadership capability in integration activities
7.Demonstrated self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
8.Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills
9.Ability to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targets
10.Experienced in developing project plans and estimates
11.EMC compatible design/solution experience
12.Design for Reliability and Manufacturability experience
13.Working knowledge of GEHC tools and processes EQPM, MyWorkshop, Cadence
14.DFSS or Green Belt/Black Belt Certified (Six Sigma Design/Quality)
