Role Summary/Purpose

The EHS Generalist performs designated tasks and specific duties within the EHS department independently and as assigned to help assure compliance for plant operations

Essential Responsibilities

As the EHS Generalist you will:

·  Ensure compliance of site operations with regulatory requirements related to environmental, Health and Safety impacts

·  Perform site training, maintaining of EHS records, implementing and updating site procedures and utilizing software systems including but not exclusive to GenSuite for file maintenance
·  Provide input to Site Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager and/or site management on EHS issues

·  Lead injury and illness tracking, case management along with root cause analysis
·  Review, approve and conduct risk assessments. Including assisting in the coordination of risk reduction projects
·  Execute site internal and external EHS requirements
·  Communicate with vendors, contractors, EPA, OSHA, and other external sources to complete various tasks
·  Perform multimedia audits and revalidates Framework Scorecards
·  Independently produces regulatory reports by collecting raw data, processing information, and completing the reports
·  Develop and maintain site EHS procedures

·  Perform tasks in accordance with established quality standards (i.e. ISO)
·  Perform other tasks as needed and requested

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's Degree in EHS related subject /  Engineering

Desired Characteristics

·  Prior experience with controlled documentation/documentation change management
·  VPP Program management
·  Demonstrated initiative in proactively identifying future potential safety risks and suggesting or implementing appropriate countermeasures
·  Prior demonstrated proficiency with a wide variety of chemical/mechanical processes, testing, and/or related six sigma initiatives
·  ASP or CSP certification
·  Ability to read, understand, interpret and apply applicable EHS regulations as they apply to the plant site
·  Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and other basic
IT systems
·  Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, in both written and verbal form, to a wide variety of stakeholders including but not limited to supervision, engineering, and shop floor associates
·  Possesses the ability to represent GE in a professional manner to outside agencies, customers, and vendors
·  Demonstrated capability of understanding and operating chemical/mechanical processes
