Role Summary/Purpose

The Cost Out and Value Engineer will focus on providing opportunities to reduce direct material cost for assigned projects. They will have to identify and manage new projects and support cross functional teams.
Essential Responsibilities

In the role of Lead Cost Out and Value Engineer, you will:

·  Lead cost out projects and cross functional teams to identify cost out ideas and quantify savings opportunities for new and existing products

·  Liaison with product company teams to identify components or assemblies for cost reduction

·  Define and execute the scope of analysis, design, and testing for assigned projects in a timely fashion

·  Prepare and present technical data to internal customers

·  Promote an open dialogue and collaborative problem-solving approach

·  Document “should cost” analysis, cost configurators, and project data generated by the assigned project consistent with COVE policies and procedures

·  Provide timely communications to leadership on significant issues or developments

·  Assist product companies as necessary in implementing the identified cost reductions

·  Knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, test, and assembly procedures
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

·  Minimum 3 years of experience in an Engineering position

·  Master's Degree or MBA from an accredited college or university

·  Strong oral and written communication skills

·  Demonstrated ability to influence others and lead small teams

·  Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact

·  Demonstrated ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously

·  Effective problem identification and solution skills

·  Proven analytical and organizational ability

·  Experience with aPriori “should cost” software

·  Expertise with MS Excel and Tableau

·  Computer Aided Design experience (CREO, Solidworks)

·  Knowledge of API equipment specifications

·  Strong interpersonal and influencing skills

·  Edison Engineering Program Graduate
