Job description



We are looking to expand our Strategy and Transactions team, the role will require firm understanding of the mining industry with technical mining consulting experience,

Drawing on your knowledge and experience, you will provide innovative commercial insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership. You will also actively contribute to improving operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives. Your key responsibilities  

Serve as a member of multiple client engagement and multi-disciplinary teams, coordinating valuation and M&A engagements for the purpose of: management planning, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, tax and regulatory compliance, restructuring and reorganization, and corporate strategy. Manage risk to the firm by adhering to the risk management policies and procedures and ensuring significant risks are identified. Working within teams, you will contribute insight into specific commodities, and their relevant supply and demand dynamics, as well as mining companies, mineral asset valuation for feasibility studies, competent persons reports and general valuations reports.

 

Skills and attributes:

 

•         Open pit and/or Underground related experience would be regarded as a MUST;

•         Utilise your expertise to conduct a full range of mining engineering functions

•         Exposure to Technical Due Diligence and Reviews.

•         Excellent communication skills including report writing and presentation skills is a MUST.

•         Exposure in International Public Reporting Codes including but not limited to: SAMREC, NI43-101, JORC and other.

To qualify for the role, you must have  

·  Bachelor's or master's degree in business, finance, engineering or accounting with demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis
·  Relevant professional qualifications such as CA, CFA, CPA will be an added advantage
·  Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience with an investment management, venture capital, investment banking, commercial banking, or national valuation firm or experience in the valuation practice of an accounting firm.
·  strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment;
·  the drive for excellence is crucial to performance in this position; 

Ideally, you’ll also have:  

·          Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to building internal and external networks.
·        Strong computer skills including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and general report writing skills
