Job description



Reporting directly to theLead for Web Services Engineer Lead, the Platform Engineer is responsible for technical deliverables on small to medium size projects and will contribute to deliverables on large size projects.

What are you going to do?

·      Producing Infrastructure Engineering deliverables meeting or exceeding benchmarks for quality and performance in accordance with the project timeline.

·      Maintaining effective and consistent communication within the team, across all Infrastructure Service Delivery teams, and with resources in other IT Services groups.  

·      Proactively raising issues to Team Leads when necessary.

·      Providing 4 th level support to Operations teams in the field of expertise.

·      Creates a vision that connects engineering strategies to the big picture and sets action plans accordingly

·      Partners with application development and infrastructure teams to align leading edge and leveraging strategies.

·      Work with Security team to ensure system configurations are in compliance with security policies and controls standards.

·      Create technology efficiency and new capabilities through the use of automation

·      Ability to deal with ambiguity and drive clarity and actions

·      Ability to work with a variety of development environments and platforms

·      Strong knowledge of Azure CLI; Phyton; Powershell; Ansible script

·      Working knowledge of Docker Container/Swarm Manager

·      Propose and implement medium to large scale system deployment (hardware, OS and cloud platforms)

·      Support new and existing deployments through the analysis of metrics, logs, system alarms etc

·      Create new tools and automation of existing ones to improve efficiency of product maintenance

·      Conducts highly complex systems automation/scripting and systems support activities, including system integration and monitoring.

·      Create design documentation for new products and procedures.

·      Facilitate outage restoration calls to access application impact, notify the business, and restore system issues.

·      Responsible to document issue summary, provide root cause analysis, and implement remediation actions.

·      Work closely with L3 and L2 support groups to develop, plan, and implement system enhancements and upgrades.

·      Be available for L3 escalation requests, during normal business hours as well as off-hour rotation

·      Sound analytical skills and problem solving skills

·      Solid interpersonal communication and organizational skills required to operate as a contributing member of global technical teams that deliver quality services.

·      Strong technical skills in subject areas previously identified for designing, documenting, supporting, and implementing infrastructure projects. 

·      Interest to swiftly expand knowledge of organizational structure of the firm to facilitate work with groups outside of the immediate technical team.

·      Quickly possess an understanding of IT Services: service offerings, technical standards and policies, technical and business strategies as well as organizational structure.

·      English language skills - excellent written and verbal communication

·      Due to the global team/organization calls and meetings out of regular office hours will occur

·      Travel may be required to guide implementations or meet with vendors and contractors supporting various projects

·      Weekend or late night work may occur during project phases

·      A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience

·      Azure certifications a plus

·      Vendor or industry standard certifications in applicable specialty or related technology areas desirable.

·      Substantial, extensive and demonstrated experience in various aspects of technology infrastructure design and implementation, with tangible, relevant and demonstrated experience in delivering projects within scope and budget

·      Approximately 1-3 years of related work experience in engineering function

 

Shift : Monday to Friday 9-6PM
