The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) team at EY UK, helping the business to win in the marketplace through creating deep client relationships, exploring major opportunities for revenue growth and strengthening our brand in the marketplace. 

This is a new rolewithin the Events cluster in the ‘Hub’,EY’s marketing and comms delivery team comprising of campaign management digital and content and internal comms.The role has been created to drive subject matter expertise across all UK brand, marketing and communications programmes more effectively and efficiently,taking on project responsibility for key projects/programmes. This role reports into the Events Lead and works closely with their hub counterparts, and the campaign managers.

Essential Functions of the Job:
The Events Manager in the hub will;
·  Develop and deliver large scale/complex client-facing and internal events, working closely with the campaign manager and BMC Business Lead
·  Drive and embed the EY brand to ensure effective execution in events logistics and production
·  Apply the firm’s visual identity and brand messaging to all marketing activities
·  Work closely with the operations team to manage the risk approval processes through established EY systems
·  Ensures all aspects of event production are efficient and effective including: room/venue bookings, catering, collateral production, preparation of delegate packs, mailings, registration etc, closely supported by the Events Executives in the hub
·  Work closely with the campaign manager and BMC business lead to develop target lists and manage the client invitation process with the support of the offshore team
·  Manages negotiations and relationships with external suppliers
·  Develops detailed project plans, ensuring all appropriate channels are utilised effectively, including internal communications, press, ey.com and e-communications
·  Writes communications, ensuring key messages are clear and consistent
·  Work with the offshore team to ensure the CRM system is kept up-to-date
·  Delivers activities within the budgets set and monitors spend
·  Works with the Events Executive to produce status reports

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
 
·  Extensive experience of end-to-end event and production management ideally from a financial or professional services background. Alternatively, agency experience of working with large corporate accounts
·  Experience of working in large/matrix organisations, balancing multiple stakeholder requirements
·  Excellent written and oral communication skills
·  Project planning and management skills
·  Strong relationship building skills
·  Experience of using a marketing database
·  Good negotiation and budgetary skills
·  Proven track record of managing external suppliers
·  High level of accuracy and attention to detail
·  Passion for events, venues and hospitality
·  Experience of managing a team

Supervision Responsibilities :

No direct line responsibility, but oversight and support of Executives in the Events cluster.

Job Requirements :

·  Degree educated or equivalent work experience
·  Minimum of 7 years’ experience of end-to-end event and production management ideally from a financial or professional services background. Alternatively, agency experience of working with large corporate accounts
