The Job: Operation & Maintenance Technician II

Purpose
The O&M Technician II is responsible for the safe and reliable start-up, operation and continuous monitoring of boilers, gas turbines, reciprocating engines, electric generators, and associated auxiliary and balance of plant equipment as directed by management.  The O&M Technician II will also be responsible for performing selective maintenance on various in-plant and/or satellite equipment.

Essential Job Functions
·  Performs preventive, predictive and repair maintenance work tasks on plant equipment.
·  Responsible for the safe, proper and efficient operation of all machinery and related equipment.
·  Diagnose equipment problems, report abnormal conditions to management, and prepare detailed work requests for plant defects.
·  Inspect plant and equipment, including carrying out scheduled plant checks, and prepare necessary reports and log entries; ensure maintenance requests are completed to a satisfactory standard; assist in planning, organizing, and executing unit outages for inspections, overhauls, repairs and cleaning.
·  Responsible for interfacing with the Shift Lead Supervisor(s) to insure proper operation and maintenance of the plant equipment.
·  Assist with preparation and administration of Operations, Maintenance and HS&E procedures and reports.  Maintain accurate records while monitoring and maintaining Plant equipment and systems. 
·  Master a shift turnover process to ensure a seamless transfer of information to the oncoming shift.
·  Participate in ongoing training to maintain and enhance skills required to perform duties and assist in the training of others.
·  Train and qualify as an Operator Technician at the ENGIE facilities in the Denver/Golden Colorado area.
·  Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

·  Must be able to qualify, through in-house and on the job training, as an Operator Technician at the ENGIE facilities in the Denver/Golden Colorado area.
·  Thorough knowledge of all plant systems and understanding of process diagrams, simple electrical diagrams and operating instructions.
·  Ability to use analytical judgment to plan and perform diversified work, making decisions within prescribed limitations.
·  Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and take direction from others.
·  Must be willing to work rotating shift as needed.
·  Ability to work overtime, as well as, any schedule including nights and weekends.
·  Must be able to achieve competent technical abilities in one of the following crafts: Maintenance Mechanic, Maintenance Electrician, or Instrument & Control Technician.
·  Must be able to complete the applicable General Physics - Power Fundamental Online self-study training courses.

Essential Physical Abilities

·  Ability to meet highest attendance requirements.
·  Regularly required to use hands and arms to touch or feel, and use tools.
·  Frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
·  Occasionally required to climb or balance.
·  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
·  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
·  Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.

Education/Experience

·  High School Diploma or equivalent required.
·  Five (5) plus years of relevant experience and/or training; licenses, endorsements; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
·  Qualified craft journeyman.
