ENGIE are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Apprentice to be based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Charles Hastings Way, Worcester WR5 1DD. This is a fixed term Apprenticeship for 38 months, working 40 hours per week (09:00-17:00, Monday-Friday). On offer is a competitive salary.  This role will report directly to the Technical Services Manager.

Specific Responsibilities/Duties:

· 
To train as a Mechanical Maintenance Apprentice, undertaking a structured training programme of academic study and hands-on maintenance work in order to gain the required skills and knowledge to support the reactive and planned maintenance requirements at Worcester Royal Hospital (on behalf of ENGIE)

· 
To observe, learn and understand a wide range of engineering skills and processes, whilst under the instruction of skilled technical staff

· 
To be able to demonstrate these skills and processes as the training period progresses, by working independently (or with a team) to undertake tasks as instructed, thus increasing overall contribution to the department.

· 
To undertake and successfully complete suitable college courses throughout the training period, achieving the academic grades and practical skills to entitle yearly progression leading to the award of a suitable qualification in Mechanical Engineering.

· 
Learning and understanding the importance of Health & Safety within the workplace

· 
To learn how to maintain workshop equipment

· 
To maintain and ensure general good housekeeping of the workplace

Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience:

·  GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
·  Good communication and customer care skills
·  Keen to train as a Mechanical Maintenance Apprentice by undertaking a structured training programme of academic study and hands-on maintenance work
·  Able to work independently (following relevant training) as well as part of a team
