ENGIE are recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to be based at First Hydro Company, Dinorwig Power Station, Llanberis, Caernarfon LL55 4TY, United Kingdom. This is a temporary 24 months Fixed Term Contract full-time role working 37 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £52,253 - £60,576, dependent upon skills and experience, bonus and benefits package.

General Overview: 

The role of Mechanical Engineer is to deliver, on behalf of Section Head, the asset engineering and maintenance strategy, within resource and financial guidelines to ensure the safe operation, engineering health, integrity and performance of the assets, in a safe, efficient and sustainable manner, maximising the business benefit within legal requirements. Provide immediate support to the maintenance department and furnish with effective solutions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

·  Supervision:
·  Provide technical direction for up to 20 Craftspersons, consultants and contractors when acting as Technical Officer.
·  Supervise the activities of consultants and contractors
·  Project Management:
·  Technical Officer on contracts.
·  Q,E,H&S:
·  Nominated persons under statutory regulations:
·  Competent Person under recognised Safety Rules. 
·  Construction Design Management (Designer only).
·  Budgets / Delegations of Authority:
·  As Responsible Officer/Technical Officer manage individual schemes up to £500k per annum
·  Delegated financial authority as per Site Management Procedure 143.
·  As Technical Officer manage up to 10 schemes per annum up to a cumulative additional value of £500k.

Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience: 

·  Degree or equivalent qualification or experience (essential)
·  IOSH Managing Safety (essential)
·  Chartered Status (desirable)
·  Experience of managing contracts, having held responsible roles e.g. Technical Officer/Construction Design Management.
·  Experience within the discipline and power industry.
·  Detailed knowledge and experience within the discipline and power industry.
·  Work within management and business procedures and IT systems
·  Knowledge of health, safety and legislation that affects the relevant discipline.
·  Identify and diagnose innovative solutions to technical problems with support from line manager.
·  Provide expert technical guidance to other FHC staff and contract staff in own area and limited advice in other areas.
