ENGIE are recruiting for an Electrician to be based on the Marriotts and Lonsdale Schools Contract in Stevenage. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

You will be responsible for assisting Facilities Manager and on-site team in the day-to-day running of the schools from a mechanical and electrical perspective.  The successful candidate will be expected to build sustainable relationships with the on-site team and clients in order to effectively fulfil our contractual and statutory obligations. This is a site-based role.

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

· 
To be an effective and professional on-site point of contact for the school, subcontractors and contract management teams

· 
To provide a flexible service to the customer that accommodates any local requirements or specific requests for contracted services and ad-hoc duties as agreed by the Facilities Manager or Premises Manager

· 
Act as a fire marshals/respond to the fire alarms etc

· 
Carry out all PPMs within their SLA time limits, i.e. plant room checks, water management, emergency lighting, fire alarm testing including call-points and detector checks, fire extinguisher checks, health and safety signage inspections, swimming pool chlorination levels, meter readings, door and fire door inspections 

· 
Respond to all reactive call-outs within SLA time limits, providing a fix if possible

· 
Lamp replacement of lighting fittings on a reactive basis or as directed by the FM and Premises Manager

· 
Replace electrical sockets 

· 
Resetting of circuit breakers on domestic electrical circuits

· 
Plumbing – fit/repair radiator valves

· 
Un-block drains using rods or hand-operated jetting equipment

· 
Re-washer taps in basins

· 
Repair leaks on WC drain joints

· 
Carry out minor repairs, i.e. fit toilet seats, shower curtain rails, whiteboards, door handles, fit locks, furniture repairs, skirting and floor board repairs, decoration touch-ups, fit shelves

· 
Re-hang/ease/adjust doors and door closers

· 
Carry out weekly tap temperature testing and flushing regimes

· 
Observe and utilise the site escalation and contingency plans

· 
Provide hands on and technical solutions for PPM work and fault rectification

· 
Be fully conversant and provide detailed knowledge of plant status, building conditions, and service availability

· 
Liaise with helpdesk/dispatcher for both reactive and planned maintenance tasks

· 
Assist in the preparation of quotes

· 
Liaise with sub-contractors to resolve trade affecting issues

· 
Provide meter readings to the agreed schedule

· 
Manage and operate the BMS system

· 
Check all plant control panels to the agreed schedule

· 
Check and manage the chlorination levels of swimming pools

· 
Ensure all on-site paperwork is kept up to date, including building logs for part changes / updates

· 
Maintain any stock levels as required

· 
Immediately reporting any incidents of Authority Damage to the school by residents, staff or children

Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience:

·  Professional Qualification in relevant skill-set (preferably with electrical bias, 17th or 18th edition however mechanical also acceptable)
·  Prior experience in customer facing role desirable
·  Prior experience working in a school environment is preferable
·  Good reading and writing skills
·  Basic computer literacy skills and previous experience using a PDA preferential
·  Basic numeracy skills
·  Ability to demonstrate good health and safety practices
·  Ability to apply common sense to a situation
·  Good decision-making skills
·  Ability to plan and prioritise own workload
·  Have good attention to detail
·  Be motivated and able to multi-task
·  Courteous, helpful and can-do attitude
·  Ability to communicate well at various levels
·  Reasonable flexibility in response to differing business needs
·  The contract is a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) and so prior experience in this area is recommended.
