Job description



Global Energy Management (GEM) is one of ENGIE’s 24 Business Units.

At the heart of the energy value chain, we optimize the Group’s assets portfolio including electricity, natural gas, environmental products and bulk commodities such as biomass, while developing our external commercial franchise worldwide. We provide services in supply and logistics management, asset management by leveraging on markets, risk management, market access management, and contributes to market understanding, design and efficiency.

With a staff of 1,400, offices in 16 countries and 5 trading platforms, GEM has an extended geographical coverage in Europe, the US and Asia-Pacific and activities in more than 50 countries.

The GEM Communications Department designs, builds and promotes a consistent identity, image and reputation of the ENGIE brand and the Business Unit expertise both internally and externally.

We support our BU’s transformation plan and new business orientations by making GEM activities well known among our staff, within ENGIE and towards our stakeholders.

Given the thorough transformation engaged in GEM, and our intention to become a business enabler, we need a dynamic and entrepreneurial communication officer for a fixed-term contract of 1 year to participate to the non-media communication actions plan for both internal and external audiences, according to GEM’s strategic priorities.

Your main activities and challenges:

·  Participate in the event strategy and roadmap for execution of both internal and external events to support business development, internal info sharing and positive client relations.
·  Take part in the organization of a regular internal event featuring a TEDx style conference, networking, public speaking, fun activities and market place
·  Support our sustainability & innovation teams to communicate and promote GEM’s Innovation challenge, an internal/external event, lasting more than few months: co-construct the concept and contents of the event, create and develop a communication action plan and associated communication material.
·  Contribute to a large digital staff event gathering 800 to 1,000 p., in a co-constructive manner to foster collective intelligence and develop sense of belonging.
·  Contribute to the development and promotion of an internal online agenda for events
·  Organize annual presence on conferences or exhibitions aimed at raising GEM’s visibility to external audiences
·  Take part into the setting up of a community of experts and ambassadors and identify opportunities for our spokespersons
·  Partner with Sales teams and other internal stakeholders to develop and execute marketing strategies for each event.
·  Contribute to the development of our communication on internal sponsoring.

If you are a dynamic, self-motivated, agile and passionate communication professional with a strong interest for energy and sustainability willing to work in a Business Unit that is leading a huge cultural and digital transformation plan, you are the right candidate.

GEM is looking for a highly motivated and talented senior communication officer, with a high level of English, to take an active role in the internal and client-oriented event communication strategy, overseeing and executing multiple events and conferences simultaneously from start to finish. The communication officer will depend directly on the non-media communication manager.

Creativity, international experience, and a commitment to GEM’s missions and goals are highly desirable.

·  Master Degree (Bac +5) in Communication
·  5 years communication & event management experience
·  Background in energy or financial services

Hard Skills

·  Demonstrated experience of gaining a rapid understanding of a business or organization and ability to engage in projects already underway
·  Confortable working in a fluid & highly collaborative environment with a strong ability to listen and adapt
·  Excellent verbal/written communication skills both in French and English
·  Ability to interact with different levels of leadership, including senior management
·  Strategic communication planning and execution
·  Strong planner, macro & detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
