Title of Internship: Civil Engineering Co-op

Internship Term :

·  The internship work term will be any of the following options:
·  from mid-September 2019 through mid-December 2019, full-time work schedule working 40 hours per week.
·  from mid-September 2019 through May 2019, full-time work schedule working 40 hours per week.
·  from mid-September 2019 through May 2019, part-time work schedule working 20 hours per week.
·  from mid-September 2019 through May 2019, part-time work schedule working 20 hours per week, transitioning to full-time work schedule at some point between late-December and late-January (assuming talent is graduating in December or January)

About the Civil Engineering Co-op position:
This Civil Engineering Co-op program allows students pursuing degrees in engineering an opportunity to work closely with ENGIE Distributed Solar’s Solar Technical Services team to help design ground-mounted solar systems.  This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to break into the renewable energy industry as it will provide valuable experience, tangible skills using industry-standard design tools, and contacts within the field. If the Civil Engineering Co-op works part-time during the Fall 2019 semester, the internship must run through the Spring 2020 semester.  Full-time single semester internships will be considered, but strong preference is given to co-op candidates.

 
The intern will be responsible for the following:
·  Perform site due diligence and produce feasibility studies for selected properties
·  Design ground mount solar array facilities to industry standards using AutoCAD software & other industry tools
·  Coordinate and incorporate information from all site stakeholders into the design documents
·  Develop and produce construction drawings and assist in the permitting of solar and battery storage systems
·  Work closely with Supply Chain Department to coordinate labor and procurement of equipment for development projects
·  Provide construction administration assistance to the Development and Project Management teams

Hiring Requirements

·  Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering
·  Strong interest and passion for Renewable Energy and Sustainability
·  Desire to learn more about Land Development & Construction
·  Enjoy a non-linear approach to design
·  Interest in being part of a continuously evolving industry
·  Fast learner with a desire to continually expand knowledge base
·  Detail-oriented
·  Results driven self-starter
·  Team player
·  Excellent written and verbal communication
·  CAD experience is a definite plus (AutoCAD preferred)

·  Civil design experience with a solar developer
