The role

Provide cost effective design solutions to maintain or improve the M25 highways asset to the standards agreed and considering the needs of key stakeholders.
Deliver the outcomes agreed with the client  to programme and budget.
 

Accountabilities

Design for highways projects (including some of or all of; pavement replacement, drainage, geotechnics and linear assets),
Manage approvals process
Report to the project manager on a bi-weekly basis on performance against budget and programme. Work with the supply chain to develop options and designs
Prepare designs, reports, specifications and other deliverables as required to budget and programme
Propose innovations in the delivery of schemes and techniques used in design and construction.

Desired profile

Personal Qualities and Experience

Engineering qualification
Design experience
Broad skills, knowledge/understanding of other highway related design areas
Knowledge of Health & Safety
Understanding of environmental requirements of highway schemes
Broad knowledge of Quality Management and IMS
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of design standards relevant to highway engineering
Knowledge of highway design software



Work Place

Connect Plus South Mimms offices (near Potters Bar to the north of London)
Potential visits to other offices / depots around M25 network (including Dartford and Leatherhead offices)
