Storage Engineer

Location:- Chorley, Aldershot

About the role

As a Storage Engineer with DXC Technology you'll be involved heavily with project delivery. We have several key clients going through large scale digital transformations and we'll be looking to Build on your existing knowledge and push you into delivering new solutions and challenging you along the way.

We'll play to your strengths, having you involved in the implementation of storage technologies. Whilst testing and deploying backup, archiving storage infrastructure across multiple clients  Utilising an array of vendor technologies HDS, EMC or NetApp storage arrays, HP, Avamar, Brocade, IBM Tape libraries or any backup software.

This role adds value by providing bespoke solutions for our clients and no day will be the same.

What you'll be involved with:

·  Implementing solutions to a high standard whilst planning and managing technical projects with respect to Client implementations and infrastructure development.
·  Providing technical expertise and guidance during project transition into support in order to diagnose and resolve problems and maintain service.
·  Installing, configuring and maintaining storage related hardware.
·  Contributing to design documentation to ensure implementations are completed to a satisfactory and compliant standard.
·  Designing and implementing systems processes and standards.
·  Liaising with other IT support teams and clients where necessary to verify technical solutions and ensure the successful integration of new systems infrastructure.

Your experience will include:

Essential:

·  A solid storage background will allow you to hit the ground running.
·  Must have exposure to HDS, EMC or NetApp storage arrays, HP, Avamar, Brocade, IBM Tape libraries or any backup software

Nice to have but if you dont have it, we'll help train you up:

·  Exposure to Unix, Linux, Wintel
·  Project/Implementation experience to tight timescales
·  Experience of IT security,
·  Exposure to scripting through Automation
