DXC Technology is looking for a Openstack Cloud Engineer to join ITO organization based in Pomezia site.

The candidate will be responsible for installation, configuration and support of cloud based infrastructure using DXC best practices. Reporting into the Italy Cloud & Platform organization, the Cloud engineer applies his/her knowledge to solve complex business issues.

Capable of consulting, designing, testing, implementing, managing capability requirements, and integrating of Cloud solutions into varied environments.

The candidate will work in a team of architects, infrastructure engineers, developers participating on the technical design, modeling, coding, testing and release of the automated cloud solutions to production.

Minimal skill required

·  Strong and solid background in GNU/Linux Operating System administration skills (3+years)
·  Experience supporting a large/medium/small scale, elastic, highly available cloud environment
·  Knowledge of the OpenStack project ecosystem and hands-on Openstack development / coding experience (Openstack Canonical preferred)
·  Solid and proven experience with orchestration engine and delivering IaaS and PaaS offerings within Openstack
·  3+ years of experience with software development, especially in Linux environment with one or more of the following languages - Java, C++, Perl, Python, Bash, PowerShell
·  Experience developing solutions withconfiguration/automationmanagement tools such as Puppet, Ansible or Chef.
·  Experience with monitoring and usage collection tools such as Nagios Zabbix and Ceilometer
·  At least 1 year experience with proven expertise in application containerization management with Dockers.
·  Container orchestration with Docker Swarm or Kubernetes
·  Architecting end to end CI/CD solutions using popular Platforms like Jenkins or GitLab
·  Strong experience in Source code repositories like Git and SVN
·  Understanding of Windows, Linux, Networking, TCP-IP, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, Load balancers and other infrastructure components
·  Understanding of Microservice Architecture and REST based implementation of APIs
·  Experience designing and using web services APIs (RESTful, SOAP)
·  Knowledge of Big data processing, (i.e., Apache Kafka, Storm, Hadoop, Spark etc).

Experience with any of following is a plus:

·  Virtualization and/or Cloud: vCenter, Amazon AWS, MS Azure, Google Compute, etc.
·  CloudOrchestration/ManagementPlatforms, VMware vRealize suite (vRA, vRO), HP CSA, ScalR, RedHat CloudForms
·  Experience with emerging web GUI development platforms (AJAX, HTML5, JSON, JQuery, JavaScript)
·  Participation and contribution to Open Source projects
·  Task Automation and Software Distribution Tools (HP Server Automation (HPSA), SCCM or equivalent solutions), IBM Big-Fix
·  Reporting / Analytics (Business Objects, HP Autonomy, HP Vertica, HP Operations Analytics, Qlikview, Hadoop or equivalent solutions)

Education and Certification

·  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent
·  ITIL Foundations certification preferred
·  Certified Openstack Admistration preferred
·  Docker Certified Associate preferred
·  Linux Foundation Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) preferred
·  Must have fluent and excellent written / spoken English language
