Position located in Cologne region, Germany, with frequent travels to our customers' sites all around the world and to French sister company near Paris (once a month)

Field Application Engineer:
Role & Responsibilities :

The Field Application Engineer (FAE) is responsible for technical support activities geared toward both the worldwide company's Sales distribution network and the end customers. He is responsible for both pre-sales and after-sales technical activities, for some of our main markets: flight tests instrumentation, mission aircrafts, launchers & missiles, commercial aircrafts, industry. As such, he occupies a strategical role being one of the key interfaces between the Company and its customers, contributing to a high extent to the satisfaction of our customers, helping the Sales process by providing technical expertise and feeding the engineering office with valuable Market information. The FAE position offers a great exposure to newest and state of the art technologies and their applications in the field at most advanced end user premises. It requires a whole lot of human and intercultural skills for understanding the needs of our international customers and for transmitting the passion that has been animating our Company for the last decades. This fascinating and very dynamic position is a real opportunity for a motivated candidate wishing to integrate a huge growing Group, with an international footprint, in a small size operational entity.

Description of the tasks of the application engineer VIE in the field
Pre-Sales Activities:

- Provide Technical expertise and Support to Sales & Marketing team during workshops, road-shows, exhibitions and product training sessions for both business partners and end-user customers
- Participate in different seminars, conferences, and meetings for promoting the products
- Keep the Sales & Marketing team up-to-date about product roadmap validated and provided by the product line
- Track, Record and address customer's technical concerns, questions or inquiries in the due time
- Support Sales Manager to write and record Customer Visits Reports
- During RFI/RFQ phase, contribute and support Sales and Product Manager to clarify customer requirement for technical offers.
After-Sales Activities:
- Prepare and execute Factory and On-Site Acceptance Test (FAT/OSAT)
- Provide technical support at customer site in the frame of a support contract
- Track, record and address customer's technical concerns, questions or inquiries in the due time
- Proceed to first level of technical analysis in customer installed application systems, check its technical resolution in working condition
- Process Technical consultancy for customers via hotline (email, phone, issues-tracking software tool)
- Provide to product line, suggestions on product enhancements and product roadmap for future releases
- Assess & collect customer satisfaction
Additional Activities:
- Review

Graduated (or in the process of) of an engineering school or business school - Bac+4/5 in electronics , software, telecom or aeronautics
- First experience in electronics and embedded software, as well as system engineering
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English; French and German will be beneficial.
- Interpersonal skills, and good organizational skills for effectively communicating the technical specifications to the customers
- Adaptiveness and versatility skills - Capability to influence the technical parts of RFI/RFQ prior their release
- Capability to work in transverse organization across USA, Germany and France.
