Poste et missions:

Project Description:

EGIS has been awarded a contract in June 2018 by the Government of Philippines to improve flood risk management. It is a 31 MUSD contract finance by the Asian Development Bank. It concerns 6 river basins. The project runs at least up to dec 2021 and should result in the delivery of the full set of documents requested by the Bank for its loan approval. That is: master plan (developed in 2019, under approval), feasibility studies, environmental and social impact assessments, economic and financial analysis, resettlement of populations, detailed designs, tender documents.

For the project implementation, EGIS is mobilising about 100 collaborators and freelancers. Under the responsibility of the french team leader, 7 teams are organized as follows:

- A core team which deliver methodological support for all studies for all basins,

- 6 teams in charges of the dedicated studies on each river basin,

These teams are located in the client’s offices in Manilla (as well as Montpellier, Madrid, and Seoul). Field missions are regularly organised.

Role Description:

In the framework, EGIS Eau is recruiting 1 young engineer / VIE. The incumbent to support the core team will assume the responsibilities and meet the requirements set out below:

- Work closely with the Team Leader, its deputy and the different teams;

- Provide key inputs in supporting the Team Leader;

- Participate to the preparation and finalisation of the deliverables (writing, proof reading, formatting, etc…);

- Organise, as needed with the local teams, the administrative & logistic aspects of the projects;

- Participate to the identification of additional needed resources (human, technical, financial…);

- Prepare contracts to hire freelancers or subcontractors by identifying our needs,

- Favour exchange and communication between the experts and within the teams,

- Provide regular feedbacks to the project director in France,

- Participate to the project and EGIS’s promotion,

Profil:
Background and competences:

- Degree in Engineering (equivalent to MSc) in the sector (hydraulic modelling, IWRM, civil engineering…)

- Excellent command of written and spoken English and report writing

- Organisation and prioritisation,

- Proven ability to work in teams as well as independently

- Willingness to develop different skills (communication, organisational, technical..),

- Diplomacy and adaptation to different cultures,

Additional competences:

- Command of Spanish,

- 1 to 2 years’ of previous work experience,

- Previous experience of living and working in developing countries, if possible in South East Asia,
