SUMMARY

As a Repair Artisan , you will work as part of the Fashion Repairs team responsible for the high-quality repair of our leather goods products, as well as the occasional repair of costume jewelry items and other accessories. The primary focus of this role is assessing and repairing client owned goods and stock items from our boutiques and retail partners, keeping them informed each step of the way. You will also be responsible for providing a quality assessment of items that come in to our repair workshop.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Hands on Technical Support of After Sales Service Repairs
·  Assess all incoming repairs. Upon training, perform inspections of merchandise to determine authenticity and perform Quality checks to determine what is repairable, what is not repairable, what is non-authentic and what harbors a potential quality issue
·  Perform hands on repairs on Fashion merchandise, leather goods (handbags, small leather goods, etc.) sent by Boutiques and Multi-Brand Stores up to CHANEL quality standards
·  Utilize your technical skills by hand sewing, machine sewing, replacing hardware on leather goods, re-painting/re-edging leather goods and more!
·  Process all Repairs out of the CASS Repair System after the repair has physically been completed
·  Process the completed repair by creating an invoice in the system prior to the warehouse shipping the repair back to its respective account
·  Research and performs tests for new ways of repairing and new repair technologies

Quality

·  Assist in assessing quality claims before handing over to Quality Manager
·  Assist Quality Manager in coordination of quality recalls, return to vendors and destructions as needed
·  Analyze damage and repair items sent to FAS for review to identify potential quality issues
·  Assess items for authenticity and process units back to store if found to be non-genuine CHANEL product

Inventory Management:

·  Recommends increase or decrease of spare parts model stock in the workshop
·  Assists with ordering of spare parts for the workshop and provide needs to the spare parts team
·  Helps to ensure workshop is fully stocked with office and repair supplies

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

·  Minimum Years of Experience:  A minimum of 1 year in Repair or Technical experience is required.  2-3 years of repair experience in a Fashion or Luxury goods environment is strongly preferred.
·  Minimum Education : A High School Diploma is required.  An Associate’s Degree is preferred
·  Excellent technical and repair skills, with the ability to interact with internal and external clients in a calm and professional manner
·  Strong working knowledge with leather goods is preferred
·  Ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong problem solving and decision-making skills
·  Must have a high attention to detail, a focused mindset and strong organizational skills
·  Possess a strong sense of urgency and a high level of resourcefulness / self-reliance, with the ability to prioritize / re-prioritize based on business needs
·  Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is preferred

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

·  Technical or Design Background preferred

Problem Solving

·  Closely assess what is repairable and what will not further damage an item, paying close attention to sensitive quality issues
·  Listen to and work closely with accounts to analyze the clients on order to determine the appropriate action plans
·  Present priorities and warranty sensitive issues as well as prioritize shipments and receivables in coordination with the Fashion Warehouse
·  Analyze several factors including standard lead times, workshop workload, commercial requests, level of service needed, warranty status, & client status to schedule and prioritize repair jobs

Communication and Partnering

·  Must be in constant ongoing communication with all levels within repair accounts {boutique and/or retail partners} regarding Fashion repair inquiries on quality and technical explanations.
·  Work closely with US and Global partners specifically regional repair specialists
·  Provide verbiage and language assistance to repair accounts to assist in resolving direct client issues
·  Partner and assist team to manage workshop spare parts inventory levels and prepare replenishment order requests
