Position Description
Put your years of experience into a future of excellence at CGI Federal. We are seeking a Video Game Scenario Designer to support operations at our Ft. Eustis, VA location.

Synopsis: The overall goal of the G-2 Operational Environment Center (OEC) facilitates and acts as the principal enabler for continuous learning across all TRADOC lines of effort through acquiring, analyzing, creating, organizing, applying and transferring data, information, and knowledge in the context of current and future operations. The OEC is responsible for delivering the OE to facilitate the training of deploying units on joint, national and interagency information, emerging asymmetric capabilities gleaned from world-wide operations; integrating processes, practices, concepts and materiel capabilities into Joint and Service DOTMLPF solutions; and coordinating with the training centers to provide realistic enemy and environmental signatures into models and simulations in support of realistic training. Position is located at Fort Eustis, Virginia. All work is required to be completed on site.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Basic Functions:
The Operational Environment Center (OEC) Gaming and Visualizations (G&V) branch provides 3D visualizations, dynamic scenarios, and games for training which replicate the operational environments encountered by Department of Defense personnel. The OEC G&V Video Game Scenario Designer is an integral part of the G&V team integrating with all disciplines (3D Modelers, Programmers, Terrain Engineers, and Videographers) and would be responsible for designing and scripting vignettes within multiple gaming environments to fit associated story boards.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Scripting scenes and vignettes for video game simulations to include Virtual Battle Space 3 (VBS3), Unity3D, and Unreal Engine based simulations and games.
• Participate in design sessions and assist in the development of 3D visualizations and virtual exercise scenarios based on current combat Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures.
• Assist the OEC G&V branch in the creation of digital products based on 3D visualization of current events and training scenarios
• Assist in the research of new software applications with regards to constructive and virtual training.
• Attend all meetings and briefings pertinent to the acquisition of information regarding recent battlefield events.
• Assist in the conversion of real-time battlefield events and future battle concepts into story boards and scenario data.
• Ensure quality standards are met on all deliverables

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• A basic understanding of programming language. C++ is preferred
• Experience designing scenarios and scripting (SQF) character actions within VBS3 is highly desired. Other game modding experience (ARMA3) may substitute for direct experience.
• Serious game (i.e. games for training) experience (level design and programming) is highly desired.
• Experience programming or game modding with other gaming engines (Unity, Unreal, etc) is desired.
• Knowledge of US Army simulations and modeling policies, principles, and practices desired
• Extensive knowledge of presentation applications such as Microsoft PowerPoint
• A team player who works well with others.
• Ability to prioritize several tasks at once, able to solve problems individually and as a team.
• Previous military/deployment experience preferred
• Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance is required, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.

• Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.
