Oracle DBA System Administrator (Mid level)

Position Description
The CGI GIS Organization is seeking a Mid level Oracle DBA with 2-4 years' experience maintaining Oracle databases in a multi-tenant environment. The Oracle DBA System Administrator will be primarily tasked with database administration which might include creating, upgrading, patching and tuning Oracle database servers in a 24/7 work environment. Will be responsible to ensure the availability of the databases to the customer and support any issues related to the database performance, database connectivity or any database maintenance.

Some experience in a production and or development database environment

> Experience administrating Oracle database servers

> Experience administrating database accounts according to department security and account management policies

> Knowledge of Oracle Database patching and Oracle Database upgrade would be a plus.

> Available for 24x7 database support

> Data guard skill is essential. Knowledge of RAC, Golden Gate, Sybase RepServer would be a plus

> Backup technologies RMAN, Enterprise Backup for full and differential.

> Must be a “self starter” and be able to work on multiple complex projects

> Must be able to pass all required CGI background checks

> Excellent verbal and written communications skills

- Professional and ethical at all times

- Energy, initiative, and a positive attitude

- Candidates must be flexible to work overnight and weekend coverage shifts.

> Knowledge on Cassandra, AWS, Sybase and MSSQL would be a plus.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Responsible for managing database on all flavors of UNIX (SUN, AIX, LINUX, HP) & Wintel.

Administrating database accounts according to department security and account management policies.

• Under general direction administer, review, implement and maintain complex databases.

• Ability to follow policies, multi-task and attain the database service level agreement.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
