Your future duties and responsibilities
As a Junior Business Analyst you will gain experience in business modelling and data analysis and the corresponding tools and techniques associated. You will use established techniques as directed to specify and document business processes and functional, data and non-functional requirements for simple subject areas with clearly-defined boundaries. You will also assist with discrete tasks in more complex requirements activities.

In short you will have a range of responsibilities across the following areas:

• Business process modelling
• Business Analysis
• Systems Analysis
• Data Analysis
• Requirements definition and management

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
This role is ideal for someone with only a few years previous Business analysis experience and who wants to develop their skill set further within a large global IT consultancy and systems integrator. We would expect you to already have a good understanding of Business Process Modelling. This would include modelling, understanding and streamlining business processes. You must be able to produce a business process diagram. A good understanding of swimlanes and viso is essential

It is essential that you have a keen interest in technical systems configuration. This role is perfect for someone with a desire to learn more about technical systems and someone who can learn quickly.

Its desirable that you also have a basic understanding of data modelling, and therefore understand the structure, relationships and use of information within a process. You would be expected to create data models and have a basic knowledge of one to many, one to one, many to many, and many to one relationships.

It is also desirable that you have a basic understanding of requirement engineering and Analysis with an ability to understand the system requirement needed from a business scenario.

Business Analysis Techniques for Agile would also be a desirable bit of experience to have. Ideally you will have experience of techniques and standards intended to facilitate business analysis within an agile development of systems and applications. For example, you may have developed user stories, scoping and prioritising the backlog, defining business-facing tests and ‘definition of done’.
It would also be desirable to have previous experience of document writing and therefore having experience of different methods and techniques for writing effective reports and specifications.

Desirable qualifications to have include:

• BCS Certificate in Business Analysis Practice.
• BCS Certificate in Requirements Engineering.
• IIBA CBAP Certification

This role will be based out of our Chelmsford offices, however there may be times when you are required on client site in various different UK locations. Therefore it is essential that you have a flexible attitude towards travel as part of the role.
