CGI is hiring an experienced Java Developer to design and develop customer-centric applications and to take part in our client’s digital transformation initiatives in Washington, DC. Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for developing and maintaining application code and user interfaces or backend code for web based applications within a large enterprise-scale environment using internet/intranet applications, and you will interact with business teams to gather and analyze requirements and to perform front and back end unit testing. Additionally, you will serve as a member of the Agile team and participate in Agile ceremonies including planning, grooming, and product demonstration and team retrospectives.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Successful candidates for this role will possess strong skills in developing high performance, scalable web applications using SDLC principles and Agile methodology. It is expected that the selected candidate will possess past experience working in an Agile development environment and will possess experience and solid exposure to the required technologies listed below:

- 5-7+ years of strong hands-on experience using Java, JavaScript (specifically node.js) and Python languages
- Experience building and deploying applications in AWS (specifically EC2, EMR, S3, Lambda)
- Experience developing and designing in an Agile environment
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with Spring MVC framework version 4.0 or higher
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, UNIX and shell scripts
- Proven experience solving cross-browser/cross-platform UI compatibility issues
- Excellent understanding of UI design, web site development and JMS
- Strong understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Delivery
- Familiarity with Object Oriented design patterns (OOD)
- Minimum of 1 year experience with Angular JS (JavaScript framework)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with other frameworks (i.e.: JQuery/Backbone)
- 2+ years’ of experience with Spring Batch framework v3.0 or higher
- Experience in working with applications that have an Oracle backend

Education:

1) A four year Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
2) Professional certification(s) desired
3) Post-graduate degree desired
