The role

A year’s Technical Industrial Placement with CGI will help put your theoretical knowledge in to practice, will set you apart from you fellow students in your final year and could mean you leave us with a graduate offer for the following year.

You will start at CGI on a Student Recruitment induction and the recruitment and learning & development teams will support you during your first couple of years with CGI. Due to the nature of our business, you work on ‘projects’. This means you have the opportunity to work across a wide range of roles, industries and locations, there is no ‘typical day’. It really does vary at CGI and that’s the exciting thing, it is up to you to shape and develop your career in the direction you want to go with the support of others.

Location of the role

We recruit placements into various base locations across the UK with our main hubs for placement students being; Birmingham, Bristol, Gloucester London, Reading, Surrey and South Wales. As CGI is a consultancy, your projects could be based from other locations asides from your base location, and you should therefore be prepared for travel in your role. Each business unit operates from a different range of offices so we would encourage you to think about how flexible you can be.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
You will need to demonstrate a real interest and passion for technology. Our technical placement students will usually be studying towards a computer science or STEM related degree however we welcome people from all degree backgrounds as long as you have an interest in the industry.

We will consider students working towards a minimum 2:1.
