Research Development Specialist (2001793) – Research Triangle Park, NC

Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for executing field testing of BASF traits in multiple crops. This position will also assist in the field and station activities for their respective Trait Development Site. The trials and activities being managed are critical to Phases 1 – 3 of Product Development, supporting research and development activities in the US, contributing to product TPOC/CPOC decisions and regulatory approval processes.

Formula for Success: You Will…

Conduct planning, spraying and rating activities to align with TD PM requests Regulated field trial workbooks, Reg Compliance training, Audit activities, Stewardship and follow all compliance requirements Timely data entry and respond to TDM’s technical questions, specific to the trials at their research site(s) Work with 3rd Party researchers conducting external protocols for BASF, be the first point of contact for CRO’s in respective region Have active, frequent communication with all TD PM’s which have assigned protocols to their respective research station Agronomic management of in season seed to harvest activities including pest and stress diagnosis, taking proper preventative or remedial action to reduce variability and ensure repeatability. Qualifications

PhD in agronomy or related field of study plus 2 years of relevant experience or MS in agronomy or related field of study with 4 years of relevant experience or BS in agronomy or related field of study with 6 years of relevant experience

Knowledge of field trial methodology and data analysis

Understanding of basic crop production practices

Capable of performing the tasks of small plot spraying and other physically demanding field activities in an outdoor environment

Executing small plot field trials for Herbicide Tolerance, Insect Resistance and Crop Efficiency Projects

Timely entry of field trial data in ARM

Able to follow designed protocols, understand protocol objectives and achieve low CV’s

Knowledge of farm equipment and their operation

Good Organizational skills to plan and execute time sensitive applications and ratings
