  Contact Supervisor (2002087) – Battle Creek, MI

  We are seeking a professional like you to serve as a Shift Supervisor in our Battle Creek, MI facility. 

·  Leveraging your previous professional experience in managing large groups of operators within a manufacturing environment, you will supervise and provide daily direction to operations team including contractors to ensure operations are conducted safely within compliance to all work rules and safety policies and verify all documentations are completed properly.
·  Your strong commitment to workplace safety will be a valued asset as you establish, reinforce, and support a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with all relevant EHS regulations and procedures/policies.
·  Assist in training new employees on site procedures, policies, and standards and assist in development of training modules and Job Safety Analysis.
·  Leading the team of individuals, you will be accountable for overall performance and the discipline of Process Technicians regarding safety, environmental compliance, productivity, and quality.
·  Responsible for managing Process Technicians time and attendance and managing shift coverage to ensure safe operations.
·  Your management capabilities will be essential as you coach, develop, motivate, and engage Process Technician to reach their full potential and responsible for setting goals and completing performance review for all direct reports.
·  Your knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) will be vital as you review and analyze production, quality control, and maintenance activities to identify areas of improvement.
·  Utilizing your communication skills, you will effectively communicate production status at shift changes, such as schedule progress, changes, maintenance needs and any safety or regulatory related incidences.
·  Successfully engaging across the organization, you will collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering groups to understand process issues and implement corrective measures.
·  This position is 12 hour rotating day and night shift which includes weekends and holidays.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

Basic Qualifications  

·  High School Diploma or GED
·  A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing plant.
·  A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications

·  Associates degree preferred.
·  Strong leadership skills required to direct Operators to produce quality product in a safe and cost-effective manner.
·  Solid coaching skills required to develop Operators in the understanding of the plant operation and to grow their awareness of technical and business issues.
·  Effective interpersonal skills are required to interface with daily operations and maintenance team, daily support and engineering team, lab, contractors, and outside vendors.
·  Strong technical problem-solving skills to help in the resolution of problems in the different manufacturing areas that affect plant performance.
·  PLC Control Board experience strongly preferred.
