DESCRIPTION

The Kindle Content Design Studio creates the full breadth of solutions that power the world's biggest and most loved digital reading products. This includes everything from the tools and services that authors and publishers use to make their books, the discovery and shopping experiences our customers use to find their next great read, and the apps and e-readers used for reading across the globe. We strive to meet the needs of authors and readers of every kind of book, magazine, comic, and educational material. To help us delight our customers, we are seeking a talented, creative, and customer-obsessed UX Researcher to join the Studio at our downtown Seattle, WA location, reporting in to our Head of Research.

What you will do
In this role you will help execute Kindle's research strategy, working closely with partners to understand the largest challenges and opportunities we face. You are highly collaborative, with a strong record of influencing outcomes and proposing well-informed new directions. You will utilizes your unique knowledge and talent to drive actionable insights that help guide decisions as we create engaging, beautiful, and customer-focused experiences for the next generation of Kindle authors and readers. In addition, you will:
· Support scaling of your expertise through collaboration, coaching, and sharing research best practices with partners across the Kindle organization.
· Dive deep in both qualitative and quantitative data to bring forward new insights that generate product innovations.
· Employ the best research method(s) based on research questions, timeline and resourcing.
· Identify and prioritize research questions based on analysis of existing product designs, business needs, project goals, and risks.
· Uncover insightful and actionable research results that drive tactical and strategic product decisions.
· Deliver impact, as measured by changes to the product design and development roadmap.

What you bring
You geek out over user research, psychology, ethnography and have a deep understanding of UX research methods and best practices, but you also have a nimble, creative and pragmatic approach, and you're interested in pushing the boundaries of agile research. You are a passionate, curious researcher with strong observational and analytical skills, an impressive ability to collaborate with other teams and designers, and a relentless determination to do what is right for Amazon's customers. You can work with minimal direction while delivering high-quality outputs. You will work on overlapping projects, so you are good at multi-tasking, juggling competing priorities, and organizing yourself to ensure you deliver on your commitments. You also bring:
· Applied expertise in user research best practices.
· An ability to communicate results and opportunities in clear, concise, and compelling ways across different audiences and senior levels of leadership.
· An ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously and multi-task in an agile environment.

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 3-6 years of applied industry experience conducting UX research.
· Masters in Human-Centered Design, Human Factors, Cognitive/Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Science, Anthropology, or related discipline.
· End-to-end experience with all aspects of the user research lifecycle (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting, communicating).
· Applied experience with usability testing, remote testing, concept evaluation, field research, and survey design.
· A strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g.: study plans, reports, and data visualizations).
