DESCRIPTION

In 2014, Amazon launched Kindle Unlimited, a digital reading subscription that provides members unlimited access to more than 1 million books, audiobooks and magazines. It soon became the most popular digital reading subscription in the world, empowering millions of book lovers to read, learn and explore on any device. Extending that goodness to Prime members worldwide, Amazon launched Prime Reading in 2016, a free Prime benefit for more casual readers.

The Books Design team, is seeking a mid-level UX Designer with strong visual design and concepting skills to help drive the future of Reading Subscriptions at Amazon. We are a team made up of designers, researchers, producers, and design technologists from a diverse set of backgrounds and experiences. We're passionate about reading are continually raising the bar on the customer experience across Kindle devices, phone and tablet apps, discovery and purchase experiences, and tools for authors and publishers. This role would be located, in our downtown Seattle, WA location.

In this role, you own UX and marketing design aspects of our Reading Subscriptions programs. You will work closely with user research experts to identify customer pain points and innovation opportunities, delivering customer-facing solutions that are frictionless, elegant and delightful. You bridge the gap between strategic business goals and design priorities, resolving occasional conflicts while earning trust with key partners. You will present directly to a senior leadership team that values the power of design. The turnaround time is often tight, and the visibility is usually high. You will learn fast and grow fast.

You will collaborate closely with talented design peers in an inclusive, open-minded and fun working environment. Since our Reading Subscriptions like Prime Reading, Prime Book Box and Kindle Unlimited have far-reaching impacts on the overall Kindle and Books customer experience, there will be a lot of opportunities for you to drive cross-feature initiatives and sharpen your leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:
· Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity mockups and detailed UI and visual design specifications for web, mobile web, email and app interfaces
· Work with the Books Design leadership to set design vision and direction for our reading experiences
· Understand target users deeply: develop or work from user profiles and conduct task analysis, create user scenarios or user stories
· Create user-centered designs by considering market data, customer feedback, and usability findings
· Design the UI and interaction flow for web and on-device software applications
· Create marketing campaigns for product launches and coordinate closely with marketing production designers and campaign managers
· Develop and maintain detailed UI specifications
· Present design work to the Books Design team, product stakeholders, and Amazon executives for review and feedback
· Contribute to user interface design and development best practices and standards at Amazon

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Minimum of 3 years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, visual designer, information architect or similar role
· An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions and UI design expertise. Must illustrate solving for multi-platform UX challenges and demonstrate scalable, user-friendly design solutions
· Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI) or equivalent professional experience
· Experience in a variety of design and prototype tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, Invision, XD, Flinto, Framer, Principle, Keynote, etc.
