Job description

DESCRIPTION

About the Last Mile UX team
We work on both big-vision and fast-execution projects—getting stuff done in the short term while figuring out the next big thing. Many of our projects move beyond the digital space to bridge physical processes as well. We are often as concerned with operational processes and physical interaction as we are digital interfaces. We work collaboratively in our design and prototyping studio to research customer behavior and needs, and define customer experiences that meet them.

What You'll Do
You will solve ambiguous and challenging problems by delivering experiences that contribute to setting a driver up for success ahead of delivering packages on-road. This includes everything from program signup and onboarding and training, to finding delivery work through our Flex app which allows drivers to find delivery work that meets their schedule.

As a UX Designer for Last Mile, your work directly impacts the customer experience, as you'll be tasked with working on mid-sized projects of increased complexity, operating with some autonomy. You'll work side-by-side with a talented team of product managers, other UX designers, and software developers in an agile environment to develop product concepts, define requirements and priorities, build, and launch to market. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. Bias for action, customer obsession, ability to dive deep into details, and exceptional communication skills are essential to success in this role.

Responsibilities:
· Contribute to the design of useful, usable, and desirable user interfaces and service design in a collaborative environment.
· Create user-centered designs by considering market segment analysis, customer feedback, site metrics, and usability findings.
· Use business requirements and customer research to assist in developing scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements.
· Design the visual style, interface, and interaction flow of applications and experiences.
· Drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements independently.
· Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, click-throughs, and prototypes.
· Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications and design patterns.
· Present design work to the UX team, product team, and Amazon leaders for review and feedback.

Desired profile

· 5+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role.
· Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or 5 years equivalent professional experience.
· A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating user-centered design solutions.
· Experience designing for native mobile experiences (iOS, Android).
· Experience in design thinking methodologies, from research to design, building tangible outcomes.
· Proficiency with a variety of design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office.
· Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups, prototypes, and style guides.
