Amazon’s transportation teams work to ensure the delivery packages globally for customers around the world. On its busiest day, Cyber Monday, Amazon customers around the world have ordered more than 400 items per second and the transportation teams play a critical role ensuring packages make it to customers’ doors on-time and in great condition. Whether its items large or small, we find solutions to make sure we are delivering on our promise for customers.

The Station Operations Manager has complete responsibility for inbound, outbound and sortation operations at an Amazon Delivery Station (24/7 last-mile carrier site). Delivery Stations represent the last leg of our delivery network. Customer packages travel from our Fulfillment Centers to regional Sort Centers and finally end up at our local Delivery Stations where packages are sorted and dispatched directly to the customer via delivery service providers (couriers).

The Station Operations Manager will actively engage with site and regional operations leadership to implement new operational improvements and new services. We expect our managers to continually identify ways to improve our operations.

This position requires a candidate with the proven ability to drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with our growth while motivating others to meet challenges in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:
· Responsible for supervision and management of all aspects of delivery station operations (Sortation, Dispatch, On-Road and RTS) to achieve safety, quality, productivity and CE, and to include interviewing, hiring, promotions, discipline, and terminations of employment
· Liaison with DSP team to ensure DSP compliance with contractual performance obligations
· Lead strategic labor and DSP planning and forecasting to achieve AMZL business objectives
· Strategic development of workplace environment that fosters Standard work, Gemba, reporting and root cause on site performance
· Exercise critical independent judgment and make decisions regarding day-to-day operational and management issues
· Responsible for managing Delivery Station facilities to ensure high standards are met in key operational areas (safety, security, cleanliness etc.)
· Develop and share best demonstrated practices
· Responsible for creating an associate-centered work force where culture, engagement, manager and site leadership inspire respect and high performing teams
· Day-to-day supervision and development of L5 Area Managers including conducting 1:1’s and structured development plans
· Oversee and ensure proper managerial development of Shift Managers and all hourly Amazon associates in the station
· Ensure safety and security of all employees onsite; perform as point of contact and incident commander in event of any issues
· Participate in safety initiatives, such as performing safety observations and safety saves to identify at-risk behavior; coach associates and managers to work safely
· Ensure all job injuries are reported timely and documented in accordance to policy and procedure and investigate safety issues and partner with key stakeholders (Safety, HR, WC, Station leadership etc.)

· Must be able to lift up to 49 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
· Must be willing and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
· Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
· Must be able to work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud
· Must be able to work in an environment where the temperature may vary between 60 and 90 degrees, and will
Must be able to work on a secure mezzanine at a height of up to 40 feet (applies to buildings with mezzanines)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications
· A completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or 2+ years Amazon experience
· Direct management experience for a salaried employee population and its performance
· Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques (how, when, who)
· Candidates must be flexible to work weekends and/or overnight shifts regularly
