Amazon's European Customer Service organisation is investing in a software engineering team to help drive automation, self-service and defect reduction. We are searching for smart, energetic and passionate Software Development Engineers to solve complex technical problems and to work with engineering and business teams distributed across the globe.

Amazon's Customer Service (CS) department is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer (SDE) to join the team. Customer service is the heart of Amazon, our vision is to be "Earth's most customer-centric company; to build a place where people can come to find and discover anything they might want to buy online."

The successful candidate will work within the EU Voice of the Customer –Logistics team and own the delivery of technical changes from a strong roadmap of projects. The projects range from introducing new self-service workflows for customers to access from the website to new Email, Push and SMS notifications. The candidate will gain a vast amount of experience in a short time period by working with various technical teams from across the globe on an away team model basis.

As the EU SDE, you will take the lead on building innovative solutions for to address the root causes of defects. You will also own the technical relationships with the business teams. You will have a strong bias for action, invent and simplify, insist on the highest standards and deliver results.

This position will only be based in Luxembourg.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
· 1+ years professional experience in software development
· Proven object-oriented design and implementation skills
· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
· Proven understanding of scalable computing systems, software architecture, data structures and algorithms
· Experience designing, building and delivering high quality software on time
· Solid verbal and written communication skills with technical and non technical colleagues
· Excellent problem solving, and complexity analysis skills
· Create reliable/maintainable code, and find creative and scalable solutions to difficult problems
