Be a founding member of the startup team to launch Amazon's Podcast product on mobile and Alexa. We are a motivated team of experienced Amazonians who have built and scaled products that customers love including Amazon Music and X-Ray for Prime Video. We have identified our next product opportunity and are excited to work with passionate Amazonians. With a large and fast growing distribution base of Amazon Music and Alexa, combined with compelling customer-facing innovation to improve discovery and consumption of podcasts, we have an opportunity to imagine and build Amazon's approach to the emerging world of podcasting. Our team is well-funded and is staffed with key leaders across engineering, product, TPM and design. We are committed to build a category-defining customer experience for podcasts and are looking for passionate founding team members in Seattle and San Francisco Bay area.

As a Software Engineer at Podcasts, you will provide technical leadership in defining our software architecture and implementation to this unique problem. You, along with the entire team will have meaningful input and impact on product direction, and customer innovations to drive engagement. By joining as a senior founding team member, you will play a critical role in shaping the technical architecture and foundation of the new offering.

You will have an opportunity to own and drive podcast-related initiatives through the entire software stack — from customer facing features and data innovations to cross-channel (Alexa, Mobile, Web) customer engagement services. As a senior engineer, you love challenging problems, defining roadmaps, collaborating with stakeholder teams to get things done, designing creative technical solutions, and mentoring more junior engineers. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be at the center of a new product area that involves rapidly evolving technology and consumer behavior, and the chance to help foster a daily habit with quality content in new ways for a whole new audience of customers.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
· Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
· 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
