Amazon is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented Industrial Engineer to be a part of our global initiative of developing and delivering the next generation of world-class fulfillment systems. Successful candidates are natural self-starters who have prior engineering experience in the integrated automation project life cycle, including development, design, implementation, enhancement, and support.
As an Industrial Engineer for Amazon Fulfillment, you will work with some of the most talented engineers in the design, development, and delivery of physical distribution systems around the globe. You are responsible for managing a technology or integration project, successfully delivering the solution to meet project goals. You may work directly with external equipment vendors, customers, or partners, and you have a solid understanding of the design approaches and industry technologies utilized in fulfillment and distribution center designs. To meet timelines and minimize disruption to support teams, you manage the overall schedule, proactively mitigate risks, and keep the scope of engineering deliverables under control.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Work independently with internal and external engineering teams to successfully deliver cross-functional projects that are of a high-quality (e.g., on-time, on-budget, maintainable, low-defects, etc.).
· Partner with project managers and external vendors to set project priorities, establish milestones, and drive schedules to meet a deadline.
· Influence technical documentation content, perform documentation review, dive deep into system layouts and solutions.
· Competently represent system and/or equipment designs to both customers and other teams.
· Communicate project status, effectively answer project questions in detail, and regularly produce clear and concise summaries for the projects you own to your leadership/management team.
· Excel at developing good working relationships with vendors, engineers, managers, and peers.
· Participate in design reviews and support execution efforts between internal teams and outside vendors including equipment specifications, material flow, process design, and site layout.
· Efficiently manage budget documents, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing.
· Build strong working relationships with FC/SC leadership and their operations teams across multiple sites as well as their Launch, Facilities, Finance, Safety, Process Engineers, and other business stakeholders.
· Identify and lead process improvement initiatives in support of operations teams within a geographic node.
· Travel up to 80% domestically although travel intensity can be variable and consist of up to three weeks in a row, including weekends.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related STEM field.
· Operations Management/Distribution Center experience.
· Exposure to Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing efforts, transportation/logistics and/or fulfillment/distribution centers.
· Direct management or responsibility for material handling, automation, or technical projects.
· Proven technical leadership for industrial engineering projects or programs.
· Demonstrated design and/or implementation experience with integrated automation solutions, such as material handling systems, high-speed packaging lines, or manufacturing lines.

For employees based in Colorado, this position starts at $76,600/yr. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM field; or 2+ years related Amazon experience.
· 4+ years of experience as a project engineer, process engineer, project manager, manufacturing engineer, or related occupation.
· Experience with managing material handling or automation projects.
· Design and/or implementation experience with integrated automation solutions, such as material handling systems, high-speed packaging lines, or manufacturing lines.
· Experience with Microsoft Office products: Excel, Project and Outlook.
· Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)
