Job description

DESCRIPTION

At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we value data. It drives our decision making and helps us stay connected to customer success. But, we also value the feedback and personal experiences of our customers. Jeff Bezos stated, “The thing I have noticed is that when the anecdotes and the data disagree, the anecdotes are usually right. There is something wrong with the way that you are measuring it.” This is why we’re looking for a Marketing Operations Analyst who’s ready to hold a high bar on quality of analysis and won’t shy away from digging deep to find the truth when the data and the anecdotes don’t agree.

As the Marketing Operations Analyst you support the AWS Product and Solution Campaigns team. We are seeking a highly curious, passionate, and data-driven individual who can dive deep to optimize performance, identify opportunities, and solve problems for global stakeholders within the Product Marketing, Field Marketing and Product and Solution Campaigns teams while creating bar-raising reporting and analytics experiences.

Our ideal candidate possesses an in-depth reporting and data visualization background to unlock insights around marketing performance and impact across programs, strategies, and datasets. You are an expert in SQL, ETL (and general data wrangling), and have exemplary communication skills. You know and love working with business intelligence tools (particularly Tableau), modeling multidimensional datasets, and partnering with customers and team members to answer important questions about our campaigns. You will need to be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and able to think big while paying careful attention to detail.

Strong preference for someone to sit in Seattle or San Francisco, but open to additional locations for the right candidate: Virtual - US. Relocation assistance within the US to Seattle or San Francisco.

Responsibilities include:
• Building planned and ad-hoc reports and analysis using Tableau and Marketing datasets
• Supporting a series of ongoing reports on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis
• Monitoring metrics, analyzing data and partnering with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities
• Managing and building a portfolio of reporting projects and enhancements
• Creating strong user-centric dashboards to support a range of users across levels and teams
• Partnering with stakeholder groups across Marketing and Sales to share insights and data
• Creating training (in-person/on-demand) and documentation materials to enable the usage of reports
• Supporting goal-setting and forecasting exercises/models
• Proactively shape new ways to track, visualize, and unlock insights around Marketing engagement and programs
