Sr. Camera Systems Engineer, Connected Vehicle

The Last Mile team helps get packages from delivery stations to a customer's doorstep.

To provide new innovations for customers, we are inventing the next-generation smart delivery operation. We are combining cutting-edge IoT technologies (sensors, embedded devices, wearables, and robotics), data streams (video, vehicle telematics, location, and presence), together with machine learning models and algorithms – all to create solutions that allow us to deliver faster, and with more confidence.

Playing a key role in the Connected Vehicle team, as a Sr. Camera Systems Engineer you will be responsible for all phases of the camera hardware design process, including lens and sensor design, housing, automotive integration, and manufacturing test development. You will work closely with your engineering and product management peers as well as contract manufacturers to drive the design from ideation through development and into production. You will bring experience of developing similar camera solutions at scale, preferably in consumer or industrial verticals.

This role requires autonomy and an ability to deliver results, often within the ambiguity of building a v1 product. You will need to work efficiently to build the right things with limited guidance, raising the bar to create an amazing experience for our customers.

This position is based out of our new Amazon Bellevue campus.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's Degree in EE or related field and relevant work experience
· 10+ years of experience in camera hardware design
· Expertise in multidisciplinary system design interfacing to a wide array of subsystems, debugging and integration experience
· Experience with the project management of technical projects
· Experience with managing external vendors
· Experience with hardware/software integration
· Experience with system level design including circuit design, system integration and debug
· Experience with industry standard PCB design tools (schematic capture & layout)
· Experience in firmware development/programming languages such as C/C++ & Assembly
