Hardware Development Engineer

  • Seattle (King)

Job description

DESCRIPTION

Amazon Go is a new kind of store with no lines and no checkout. Customers use the Amazon Go app to enter the store, take what they want from our selection of fresh, delicious meals and grocery essentials, and go. Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by our Just Walk Out Technology, which automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. After customers leave the store we charge their Amazon account and send them a receipt.

We are looking for exceptional hardware engineers to build the next generation of cutting edge hardware that will enable the computer vision, sensor fusion, and advanced machine learning that Just Walk Out Technology is built on. This role will have an emphasis on Design Validation Engineering (DVE) work, with the opportunity to contribute in other areas as development cycles and individual capabilities allow. As a Design Validation Engineer, you will develop a system-level design understanding, create and execute test plans, characterize and troubleshoot hardware, and identify solutions to design issues encountered.

It is particularly important for us to find individuals who can demonstrate:
· Technical and operational excellence – the ability to drive innovation and apply state-of-the-art technologies to solve real world challenges.
· Full cycle product development experience from inception through maturity.
· The ability to work simultaneously on projects in different phases, demonstrating strong design and validation skills in addition to understanding the mechanics of ongoing operational excellence and product support.
· Responsiveness, flexibility, and the ability to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment.
