Amazon.com operates in a virtual, global eCommerce environment without boundaries, and operates a diverse set of businesses in seven countries, including Retail, third party marketplaces, eCommerce platforms, web services for developers.

The RBS group is an integral part of Amazon online product lifecycle and buying operations. The team is designed to ensure Amazon remains competitive in the online retail space with the best price, wide selection and good product information. The team's primary role is to create and enhance retail selection on the worldwide Amazon online catalog. The tasks handled by this group have a direct impact on customer buying decisions and online user experience.

A successful candidate will be both creative and highly analytical, able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into products and applications that customers love. We are looking for someone customer obsessed and technology savvy – with a proven track record of creating successful consumer products and services.

As a Sr. Product Manager - Tech you will assume end-to-end product ownership over one of our technical products. Economists at Amazon will be expected to develop new techniques to process large data sets, address quantitative problems, and contribute to design of automated systems around the company. They will apply tools from applied micro-econometrics (e.g. experimental design, difference-in-difference, regression discontinuity, and IV) and forecasting (essential time series models). They will leverage big data tools for data extraction, and write up and present analysis for distribution to various levels of management at Amazon.

· PhD in Economics
· PhD in Economics or highly related field (Marketing, Finance)
· 0-2 years of experience in industry, consulting, government, or academic research
· Experience with big data and machine learning or data science
· Coding ability in a scripting language such as R or python
