DESCRIPTION

Amazon.com is seeking a Macro Economist for our WW Operations Finance team. Operations is at the forefront of the supply chain evolution, integrating complete end-to-end solutions from inbound, storage, fulfillment and 1-day delivery. With a business of our scale and growth trajectory, you will help answer complex business problems that can shape our future.

In collaboration with data scientists and engineers, you will build macro analysis using our world class data systems and external resource, to influence business leaders and improve decision science. Operations' wide breadth allows for a range of analyses from the impacts of tariffs or Geo-political events, to labor markets studies or commodity price elasticity impact on profit. You will work with business partners to communicate the intuition, implication and detail of your analysis/modeling and be able to incorporate their feedback into your projects.

You will help establish, build and lead the Economics-as-a-Shared-Service model, and represent Operations on the Amazon central Macro Economics working group. We are looking for creative thinkers who can combine a strong economic toolbox with a desire to learn from others, and who know how to execute and deliver on big ideas. Economists at Amazon are expected to develop new techniques to process large data sets, address quantitative problems, and contribute to design of automated systems around the company.

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· PhD in Economics, Quantitative Marketing, Finance, or closely related field.
· 2+ years of experience in industry, consulting, government or academic research
