DESCRIPTION

The Alexa Economics and Measurement team is looking for an economist to support the measurement of the Alexa business and to provide actionable insights across Alexa customers and devices. As an economist, you will work with product managers, SDEs, financial analysts, and BIEs to help the Alexa organization identify new features and business opportunities as well as drive optimization of current features and services through your analyses. You will be expected to own the development of econometric models and to manage the modelling and validation work for your analysis products.

A successful candidate will be able to partner effectively with both business and technical teams, including clear communication of results and the ability to influence a variety of stakeholders. He/she will be an expert in drawing customer insights through causal inference techniques. This high-impact role provides a great opportunity to demonstrate the ability to dive deep, deliver results, think big, invent and simplify, and earn trust. It will also allow for combining machine learning techniques with econometrics to improve our ability to serve customers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Proven track record of applying econometric techniques to real business problems · Experience with big data and machine learning
· Coding ability in a scripting language such as R or python

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· PhD in Economics or related field (finance, quantitative marketing)
· 0-2 years of experience in industry, consulting, government, or academic research
