The Role
Are you a qualified Electrical Design Engineer, keen to develop a career in exciting and innovative projects within aerospace, space & defence domains? At AKKA UK we have incredible growth plans for the next 3 years in the UK are to grow from 200 to 1000 System and Software engineers by 2022. You could be part of the huge growth!
Through the help of the rest of the AKKA Group and exploring new industry avenues we continue to grow our in-house engineering capability and are looking for systems engineers of all levels, interested in the opportunity to work for a consultancy across multiple sectors.
Key Tasks & Accountabilities
· Defining, documenting and maintaining designs of electrical systems and electrical infrastructure,in line with applicable design processes and rules for the different programs.
· Producing design schemes and supporting design reviews and change process to ensure maturity is to required standards in a timely manner in line with the requirements.
· Supporting the validation of design requirements and agreement of deviations with stakeholders if and when needed.
· Facilitating the integration of the electrical systems with the structure and other systems.
· Performing trade-off studies to determine the preferred implementation scenario for new or changed functions, as well as getting agreement with stakeholders.
· Making work breakdown and effort estimation for the various electrical products, adjusted with other stakeholders.
· Contributing to the capture and development of innovation ideas
· Supporting the capture of lessons learnt and continuous improvement
Skills & Knowledge Required
· 4+ years experience as an Electrical Design Engineer
· Very autonomous
· A degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar.
· Excellent level of written and spoken English.
· Capable working as part of a team.
· Analytical and problem solving.
· Experience using specialised electrical diagram drawing tools (for example Catia, but any will do).
· Experience in the Aerospace industry, preferably working with Airbus (but not necessarily).
· Results oriented.
· Customer facing.
