Description of the job :
The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria.

VIE Main Requirements:
- European Union citizens (plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Monaco), graduates up to and including 28 years old.
- Have fulfilled military obligations for their country, if any.
- Fluent in English.

A 24 month’s VIE for an Eco-design engineer starting from December 2019 at the earliest has arisen within Airbus Beijing Engineering Center in China.

Task & accountabilities :
As an environmental engineer and project leader, your mission shall be focused on eco efficient aircraft design (materials, design, manufacturing/recycling process...):

- Lead mind-set change about environmental challenges inside the Airbus china design office
- Explore and deliver technical solutions
- Share knowledge about the state of the art practices to manage environmental engineering (e.g. life cycle assessment)

You shall perform:
- Scouting new existing solutions: analysing the Chinese technology eco-system with the Global scouting team
- Launching: start framing projects
- Delivering: work with international team to deliver and mature technological solution to our environmental challenges
- Setting up a knowledge platform system to boost awareness in the engineering community

In this position, you will report directly to the Head of transverse engineering.

This role could involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills :
You have the following skills and experience:

- Educated to 5 years or more degree level (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least, 24 months (104 weeks due to Visa constraints) of professional in environmental engineering
- Knowledge in eco-design (principles, methods and tools)
- Project management skills and experiences

Soft skills:
- Creative

- Willingness to explore and learn
- Team collaboration

Language Skills: Negotiation level of English
