Job Description

For Airbus Helicopters in Marignane we are looking for a System Engineer Optronics / Situational Awareness (m/f) within the area 'Engineering / Avionic Mission Systems / Situational Awareness & Mission Management' for the department 'Optronics'.

The focus of your activity will be on the development and integration of Optronic Systems.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your responsibilities will include:

·  Evaluation and validation of the development, integration and certification of Optronic Systems on civil and military helicopters (e.g. Augmented Reality Systems, Enhanced Vision Systems, Electro Optical Systems)
·  Technical responsibility for the integration of Optronic Systems into complex H/C avionics
·  Benchmarking of novel optronic technologies and applications (e.g. in the field of augmented reality, laser technology, image processing)
·  Active contribution to definition and execution of research and technology (R&T) activities and optronics product strategy
·  Definition and implementation of operational concepts and use cases for Optronic Systems
·  Interface with project management, engineering departments, purchasing and sales departments of the various H/C programs
·  Supplier management and development for different Optronics suppliers
·  Planning and monitoring of development and qualification activities at equipment level
·  Ensure qualification and certification of Optronic equipment and associated functions
·  Technical responsibility for offers to internal and external customers
·  Application of guidelines and standards

Required skills:

·  Educated to 5 years’ degree level (or equivalent) in the field of Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar
·  Experience in the design, development and/or integration of Avionic Systems (e.g. on system or equipment level)
·  Experience and knowledge in systems engineering, integration and testing especially in the field of Optronics, as well as avionics or avionics equipment
·  Knowledge in the domain of avionic system development
·  Good team player capable of cooperating in a transnational department
·  Good communication skills and high-level of assertiveness
·  High sense of responsibility
·  French / English: negotiation Level / business fluent
·  German is an advantage
