Description of the job :
Airbus Helicopters in Donauwoerth is looking for a Functional and System Design Responsible of Mission Management Systems (d/f/m) within the area MISSION MANAGEMENT for the department ETZMAM.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognised authorities.

Task & accountabilities :
You will part of a transnational team responsible for the system design of the mission management systems of all Airbus helicopters. This area is nowadays becoming increasingly more important for our customers and we are looking for a highly motivated candidate to take over the functional and system design responsibility for Mission Management Systems on special helicopters (Tiger and NH90) for current but also future versions of the avionic mission systems.

In the frame of this position, you will have the duty:
- To act as FDR/SDR (Functional/System Design Responsible) and handle the interface with other teams within Airbus and the equipment suppliers.
- To define technical Requirement Specification and Statement of Work based on Customer requirements and expected new future functionalities
- To perform the analysis of received technical proposals, clarify open technical topics with Supplier and to support Programme, Chief Engineering, Procurement and other Airbus internal departments
- To perform the quotation of all own activities
- To harmonize with Supplier its development documentation and to follow up the development of the new pieces of equipment (Hardware and Software development)
- To produce documents for Configuration-Management and for the installation into helicopters
- To update/produce artefacts in DOORS
- To support the Human Machine Interface (HMI) team during the harmonization of HMI-Concept for handling of equipment functions
- To attend on different Hardware and Software reviews with Suppliers
- To support tests on integration benches and if required, on the helicopters
- To analyse tests results, identify issues for failed tests and look for the root causes
- To produce documents for qualification and certification activities, e.g.: Engineering-/Ground-/Flight Test Orders and Reports, Qualification Program, Substantiation Reports, etc.
- To influence the technology roadmaps related to mission management systems for rotary wings military aircrafts
- To report on the Safety, Quality, Cost, Development and People status of your activities
- To embody Airbus values (Customer focus, integrity, respect, creativity, reliability and teamwork) which shape the DNA of our business

Required skills :
We are looking for candidates with the following skills:
- completed studies in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable fields
- experience within engineering
- A previous experience in mission management systems on any airworthy platform is expected by the candidate
- Knowledge of AIS (Automatic Identification System), DVE (Degraded Visual Environment), TDL (Tactical Data Link), DMAP (Digital Maps) and MUT (Manned-Unmanned Teaming) would be of advantage
- Knowledge of software and hardware development processes would be of advantage
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work on technical details and also synthesise and report at management/ customer level
- Team Spirit, open minded and curious
- Welcome problem attitude and driven to continuously improve performance
- Enjoys to work in an international environment
- fluent in English, German is a plus
